Clancy does not want to complete a reading challenge that he signed up for at his local library. Learning this, the Willow tree takes him and Little Ty to Northern Spain and the El Camino road that winds through the Pyrenees Mountains. They meet a black bear, a rabbit, and a mountain goat who describe their very long pilgrimage — and who teach them their way of coping when it gets hard and they want to quit.
