Martin & Sylvia: More Adventures!

Stones in the Brook — a Story for Yom Kippur

Martin and Sylvia get a book from the library about Yom Kippur, a very important Jewish festival day. Sylvia notices a page where a young boy is tossing a stone into a river. She learns that the boy had not told the truth, and so, as he tossed the stone into the water, he made it right with his family. Sylvia loves this idea. "Can we do this by our brook?" she asks, remembering an untruth she recently told. And so they do.
