Friday's Kind Words: Funny and Delightful Stories
We were excited to start Advent yesterday with Sparkle Stories. "All 25 stories in this Audio Calendar are about how a community faces a difficult situation. By including everyone with their strengths and quirks, they not only solve what faces them, but they get closer in the process.
These stories are funny and delightful, and they demonstrate courage, authenticity, compassion, empathy and most of all - service." There is a printable calendar that you can set up to open to each character. We printed the calendar as a 12x18 play mat (2 copies, lol), but instead of placing the characters behind the front page and cutting out little doors, we pasted cut outs of the characters onto little wood circles so the kids can play with them as they listen to each story. They will find the "character of the day" in our family Advent calendar, and then match them up to their play mat of the Advent story to listen to on Sparkle Stories. I hope they enjoy it as much as we have enjoyed envisioning it!
