Pomichnik is a joyful Steppe Lemming, happily burrowing tunnels in a mountainous region of Ukraine along with hundreds of his kin. When Pomichnik sniffs a mysterious dark smell, he starts asking questions and begins to feel afraid. But comfort arrives when a wise old lemming gathers the little ones around to reassure them about the ways of the lemming community … and to teach them a powerful way to help.
