C is for Caterpillar Collage Craft with Earlybird

To kick off May and the spring season, we've joined forces with the lovely creators of Earlybird to bring you this wonderful "C is for Caterpillar" Collage Craft designed to encourage creativity, work on fine-motor skills, and help teach children about letters — setting an amazing foundation for spelling and early-reading skills! This is the perfect crafting idea for us to partner with because, as you know, we're all about developing those pre-reading skills with our collection of original audio-stories!

Suggested listening while you craft: "The Caterpillar and the Flower" from the Sparkle Sleepytime Collection.

This cozy, creative activity builds early literacy and motor skills while inviting calm, focused play. Kids decorate a C-shaped caterpillar (hello, letter recognition!) while listening to "The Caterpillar and the Flower." It’s a sweet story that pairs perfectly with hands-on art and quiet learning time.

Process art lets kids explore materials freely, which builds fine motor control, confidence, and creativity — all key to early learning. Pairing art with listening to a story encourages listening comprehension and builds vocabulary while also giving kids a soothing, creative sensory break.

Here's what you need to get started! First things first, download and print the C is for Caterpillar Printable by Earlybird!
