For the Grown-Ups: Heavy Headlines. Sparkle Help for Troubled Times.
We're all feeling it — so much unrest and uncertainty. This week I am finding it hard to think clearly.
What is the very best way to navigate life as a mom, a friend, a member of my communities, and a business owner?
Stay grounded and regulate your nervous system — as best you can.
Who has time for that, you might ask? These times can feel scary. And isn’t it natural to feel scared?
When we're grounded, we think clearly and have creativity on deck. We make better choices. And our grounded-ness settles those around us.
The planet needs as many clear-thinking, grounded people as possible right now.
How do I settle my nervous system? There are so many ways to ground yourself. Walk in nature, offer and ask for hugs, breathwork (including simply slowing your breathing), exercise, talk to a dear friend. Even just giving yourself a moment to pause and feel what you're feeling can make a difference. And of course there's meditation, with its many styles.
Choose your practice and commit to doing it as often as you need.
And I believe it’s our greatest gift, to ourselves and those around us — particularly our children.
Have a listen to my video, and tell me what you think. I’d love to know how you manage and what helps you to stay grounded. Let’s make it a conversation and help each other.
