Screen-Free Week Ideas
If you were born before 1990, a screen-free week might seem like a silly thing. We grew up screen-free, we were outside playling, reading books, swimming, or making forts. Maybe you’d watch TV occasionally on a Saturday, morning but for the majority of our time we were screen-free. Now, however, our children have screens everywhere! We have TV’s and computers, screens the size of books, and even screens small enough to fit in our back pockets. Screens are part of our world now, but that doesn’t mean it has to be our whole world.
Taking a week off from screen time will give you and your children a much needed break. You might feel bored at first, but boredom is the gateway to exploration and invention. We at Sparkle have you covered with stories, crafts and recipes to try out on your screen-free week.
To get you started gently, we suggest stories to replace TV watching time. Below are 5 free stories you can listen to any time. And, if you’re a subscriber you’ve got more than 1,000 stories to choose from!
