The Violet Crown is an epic tale of powerful heroes who defy the ambitious gods of that land. They are stories of discovery, friendship, battle and betrayal. And they all take place in modern day downtown Austin, Texas. At the center of the Violet Crown stories is Dante Lee, a misfit 12 year old from the Crestview neighborhood in Austin TX, who discovers that he is actually one of 5 initiates into a secretive band of superheroes called the Violet Crown. How I Became Super (story collection)
One Saturday morning, a seemingly ordinary husband, father and elementary school teacher learns that he has the “mark” of a superhero. The moment he decides to rediscover lost superpowers from his youth, his eyes are opened to community of curious local folk who teach him How To Be Super.

David Sewell McCann
David Sewell McCann fell in love with spinning stories in first grade – the day a storyteller came to his class and captured his mind and imagination. He has been engaged in storytelling all of his adult life through painting, film-making, teaching and performing. Out of his experience as a Waldorf elementary class teacher and parent, he has developed a four step method of intuitive storytelling, which he now shares through workshops and through this website.
