Living Room Nutcracker (from the Martin & Sylvia: More Adventures! Series)
This year, Martin is invited to attend the local production of “The Nutcracker” with Momma. It’s an exciting first! But as it’s a long performance, it’s decided that five-year-old Sylvia is too young to join. And oh is she disappointed! Martin makes it up to his sister by promising to bring the Nutcracker right back to their own living room — and he does, in a full family performance!
Singing Together (from the Martin & Sylvia: More Adventures! Series)
When Mr. Weber invites Martin and Sylvia's family to come downtown to sing wintertime songs at the local shops, brother and sister only think of one thing: they might have to see Mr. Amos. Mr. Amos owns the Antique store, and they've heard stories that he is mean and doesn't like children. On the night of the downtown singing, however, they learn how important it is to ignore hearsay and "see for yourself"!
In the Stillness (from the Junkyard Tales Series)
It is a cold snowy day in the Junkyard, and a single muskrat arrives through the back gate with some incredible news - she is going to have a baby! All the animals then rally to make a warm bed, provide nourishing food and together anticipate the arrival of the new baby.
The Cooper and the Winter Oak (from the So Many Fairies Series)
An old cooper, or barrel maker, is given a large order for special barrels to be made before Christmas. The barrels are for a wine maker who wants them to be made with “winter white oak” wood. Ordinarily this would not be a problem, but the rareness of the wood, coupled with a sudden and severe snow storm, forces the cooper to make a difficult choice: use his wood for barrels or burn his wood to keep himself warm. Luckily, a quiet oak elf steps in, introducing the cooper to someone who can help.
The Christmas Gifts (from the By Thistle By Thimble Series)
A poor father and son who live in a hovel and work all day in order to afford food and necessities, both plan their Christmas gifts for each other in secret. But when a flood washes their hard work away, Christmas magic works out the perfect solution.
