Storybox Playlist: Stories for When Parenting Feels Hard
Parenting. It’s the job that everyone thinks they can do — until they actually do it. Once you’re committed, you realize how challenging the task can be. Every child is different and there’s no manual for them. Parenting exposes a mirror-image of ourselves. Children reflect back on us the things we need to work on for our own growth and development. So when you are sleep-deprived, haven’t showered in a week, and just got thrown-up on, you need some tools — namely, all of your compassion, love, and mindfulness — to stay cool and figure things out without blowing up. We all make mistakes and lose it sometimes — and that’s okay. It’s what you do after the meltdown that really matters.
In this playlist, we want to share stories of our Sparkle character parents and some of their hard days. Although these parents sometimes seem to dance their way through life, it’s not all sunshine and rainbows for them. With these stories, we aim to show a better path toward conflict-resolution and through parenting struggles. We hope these stories help you feel validated when parenting feels tough.
