Lil' Rings Full Moon Mother's Night Off (from the Sparkle Sleepytime Series)
Lil Ring and her three ringtail cubs live a hardscrabble life in the open hills of West Texas. Lil Ring works hard all night keeping her cubs safe and well fed and after a while, her three cubs notice how tired she looks and want to help. The challenge is that their young eyes don't see well enough at night to hunt or gather food on their own. But on the night of the full moon, they all realized that at least one night a month, it is bright enough for them to give their mother a night off.
Daddy's Toe (from the At Home with Martin & Sylvia Series)
While carrying firewood from the woodpile, Daddy accidentally breaks his toe. The doctor informs Daddy that he will not be able to do his normal work around the house and instead must rest for a few days. When Momma needs to go into town for a few hours for work, Martin and Sylvia learn how satisfying (and tiring!) it is to do what Daddy does all day.
Onatah's Table (from the By Thistle By Thimble Series)
The Duke’s son is very ill, and none of a long line of doctors seems to be of much help to the boy. One doctor, however, suggests they visit an unusual Inn called Onatah’s Table where he has heard miraculous recoveries take place. The Duke is suspicious at first of their simple philosophy — but soon discovers that it not only helps his son — but himself as well.
The Secret of Schuyler Springs (from the By Thistle By Thimble Series)
Schuyler Springs was once a favorite travel destination due to its famous natural springs. Over the years more and more people moved to the small town and turned it into a wealthy resort village. But then something unexpected happened: the springs dried up. That would have been the end of Schuyler Springs had it not been for the secret held by three girls, and the clues they left behind for the one person who could help save it.
As I Truly Am (from the Dry Gables Series)
When a true “snake-oil” salesman comes to Dry Gables to peddle his patented cure-all rattlesnake liniment, Liesl Hertz gets very upset. She feels like the town is entertaining chicanery with this peddler and takes their interest in him personally. Luckily her husband helps her identify her feelings and make room for them – so that she can be clear and more up front about what she chooses to do next.
